Get To Know Us Before You Need Us

Our mission is to support military personnel and their families.

The American Red Cross is there, serving the men and women in uniform and their families worldwide.  Through our more than 37,000 volunteers and 450 employees and Reserve Corps members, we provide emergency communications and a caring presence for those separated from loved ones.  This starts with your local chapter.  If you have a loved ones in the service, or know someone who does, call your local chapter before you need us.  To learn about Armed Forces Emergency Service or for emergency correspondence, contact the chapter at 641-682-4571.

HOW CAN WE HELP? The Red Cross sends an emergency communication every 22 seconds, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The American Red Cross aids the men and woman of our armed forces to keep in touch with their families following the death or serious illness of a family member, the birth of a child, and other family emergencies. Red Cross emergency messages provides our military forces and their commanders with fast, reliable information to assist them in making decisions regarding emergency leave, deferment and compassionate reassignment.

OTHER SERVICES

The Red Cross also offers help in other ways to our armed forces.  We aid in financial assistance, counseling, referrals and veteran affairs.

IF YOU NEED HELP

We understand the problems of having a loved one in the armed forces fighting for our freedom.  If you need help call or stop by your local Red Cross.
